A few weeks ago I sat at my desk looking over my Substack dashboard and seriously thought about hitting the delete button.
The last thing any of us need in our lives is more useless long-form content arriving in our inbox under the guise of information when the real intent is to sell us something.
It’s boring. When is the last time you felt something after reading a newsletter?
Me too.
It’s why I’ve been cheating on you.
I’ve fallen back in love with Twitter. The ability to build community and interact with each other, the number of interesting people on there, and the challenge of cramming a compelling message into 240 characters make me feel alive, and the dopamine rush in real time whenever I need it isn’t bad either.
But back to why I didn’t hit delete: There’s something special about being able to share privately with you off of the other platforms.
It’s a closer connection when it’s just me & you playing in your inbox.
I’m not going to send you essays anymore.
I’m going to send you something between a Tweet and a thousand words of inane bullshit.
Thinking, dreaming, working, and moving forward.
Together.
What the hell have I been up to?
Remember when I started writing newsletters? Well, that blew up into a content writing service, it’s a dream come true — meeting a ton of amazing people and helping them get stuff done.
Working my ass off in the creative world has given me a ton of time and energy to refine my idea machine.
I can’t wait to start sharing some of the output with you.
Hit me anytime by replying to this newsletter, I’d love to hear from you.
Follow me on Twitter if you’re on there.
Hope everything is amazing in your world!
